Today we arrived in Vienna and wow... holy heat! It is a whopping 95 degrees, but feels like 98. In our original plans, we didn’t include Vienna in our itinerary and were set to go from Prague straight to Budapest. But, then I figured why not take a short trip to Vienna since it is on our train route and spend two days, one night in this very expensive city.
With such a short trip, we got a hotel, Kaiserhof Wien, a smaller hotel near Karlsplatz. Once we were able to check in and go to our room, we were disappointed (in a very angry way) to find that our room was almost as hot as outside. We figured the room just needed to cool down and the AC needed to start working, but .... no, the room didn’t really cool down. Reception brought us a fan, and we left for a few hours hoping we would return to a much a cooler room.
Well, here we are, the four of us sitting on the king bed, all in our underwear with TWO fans blowing on us (I will spare you the photos).
Hopefully my next Vienna post will actually include some history, sites and food!
