We pulled it off...another surprise trip for the girls. Back in July when we came back from Israel I was doing my favorite activity - looking into flights for our next trip and came across $400 direct flights to Paris. In most of these cases, I bring up the idea to Baba and see what he thinks, but I knew this was a great deal and knew he, like me was itching to travel again (even though we had just landed in Israel a week earlier) and so I booked it. We decided not to share the news with the girls and instead if someone were to be disappointed that COVID hit us and we couldn't go then let it just be Baba and I. And so we sat on this surprise until two days before the trip and then told them. M claimed to have known for weeks, but we know she was just as surprised as O. Now that I am writing this after we have returned, I am packing days worth of sightseeing, stories and photos into one post!
We rented an Airbnb in Le Marais, which is a great neighborhood and while the location was perfect, the most delicious bakery across the street (yes, we walked there in our pjs at 7am to get fresh baguettes and croissants), the Airbnb itself was small, loud and not so comfortable. But hey, we are in Paris, how much time are we actually spending inside the apartment?!

Of course, no post would be complete without mentioning some of the amazing food we had. We decided that for this trip we wouldn't be eating in any restaurant as we didn't want to risk getting sick and stuck in Paris but that didn't stop us from trying some great food. We had hot chocolate and macarons at Cafe Angelina, falafel and shawarma at L'As Du Fallafel, hand pulled noodles and dim sum and mille feuille near Sacré-Cœur.
